How to Change AirPods Pro Ear Tips

At times it becomes necessary to upgrade or clean your AirPod Pro ear tips. Perhaps you need new sizes, or replacement due to wear and tear.

Understanding how to safely swap out ear tips without ripping them can be challenging, so Apple's Ear Tip Fit Test can be very useful in making sure they fit comfortably into your ears.

1. Pinch the bottom of the ear tip

AirPods Pro ear buds come with three sets of ear tips in different sizes to provide optimal audio quality and comfort. All three sizes of tips have unique fits that ensure they provide optimal seal.

The ear tip can be found at the base of an earbud, close to where it connects to its driver. In order to prevent accidental ripping off of this component, pinch it firmly from its base before inserting your headphones.

Ear tips should slide off without issue; otherwise, they're likely too large. To determine your size accurately and then get them fitted at an Apple Store. If they still don't fit perfectly, take them back with you for exchange ear tips that fit more closely to your aural preferences.

2. Pull

Your AirPods Pro ear tips may eventually need replacing; their wear may cause them to lose seal and diminish sound quality over time, or become dirty from repeated use, leading to an imperfect seal and diminishing sound quality.

Change up your ear tips to find your ideal fit, providing improved noise cancellation and music experience. A tight fit ensures no music escapes while outside noise cannot be heard through your ears.

Carefully pop (or flip out) the ear tip by holding its base near where it connects to the AirPod and gently pulling away without accidentally ripping its delicate end off. Your new one should now be ready.

3. Remove

Find the appropriate AirPods Pro ear tips is key to maintaining comfort and sound quality, so experiment with different sizes until you find ones that best suit your ears.

When pinching an ear tip, it's essential to use firm yet gentle pressure; otherwise, overdoing it could damage rubber.

When it's time to change an ear tip, ensure you have replacements on hand and work on a flat, clean surface - to prevent misplacing or damaging it! If the new tip feels uncomfortable or falls out unexpectedly, consider moving up to a larger size; unroll it and look for an XS, S, M, or L on its edge as an indicator.

4. Insert

Maintaining an optimal in-ear experience requires fitting your ear tips perfectly; those that don't are likely to come off or cause discomfort by exerting too much pressure in the canal.

Beginning by grasping the ear tip near its base, where it connects to an AirPod, and using your fingers firmly yet gently pulling off to remove.

To attach a new ear tip, align its oval on one side with the connector on your AirPod and push it onto it until you hear a click. Repeat this step with each new ear tip you add.

5. Secure

AirPods Pro offer superior isolation so that you can focus on listening to music, audiobooks and podcasts without being distracted by anything outside. Their ear hooks tuck securely into your ears for a secure fit.

AirPods Pro ear tips come in two sizes to comfortably fit in your ears and are compatible with Apple's Spatial Audio feature for an immersive cinematic experience.

Care should be taken when swapping out ear tips to prevent damage to earbuds or discomfort, and Apple offers the Ear Tip Fit Test on iPhone to test if they fit optimally and create a good seal and sound quality.
